I write because I want to live up to the potential you see in me.
I write because I want my words make you feel the way the words of others make me feel.
I write to penetrate the silence, not to make it go away but to enrich it with the possibilities of imagination.
I write because I need to write, a need that is as deep as breathing, as important as moving and as pleasurable as love.
I write because I am a Writer, just as much as I am a Woman and as I am a Witch. I can not separate myself from writing because it is not what I do but who I am when nothing else is left.

If you are a Stephen King fan, or a writer (both aspiring and accomplished), this book is a insightful, and funny read, that spans not only across Stephen Kings life, but also includes tools of the craft.
Witty tales of his childhood ills trade places with accounts of the growing experience in writing for a variety of publications, make the first half of the book a page turner - often having me laugh out loud in responds of his recall of childhood mishaps.
The toolbox section of the book gives the reader an insight into the process of the craft and art of writing in a no nonsense style, that is both to the point, and entertaining.
A great read, that I highly recommend.
