NaPoWriMo Poem # 15 The Truck Driver
The Truck Driver
Wheels racing
pulling loads
setting a quick pace
......wishing I was home
Crowded stops
same fast food
alone at the table
.....wishing I was home
Snow chains
hot summer days
moving along
......wishing I was home
Missing all
important days
childrens hugs and kisses
.....wishing I was home.
Today, we were prompted to write a poem about work. Considering that we own a small truck driving company, I wanted to use the opportunity to write about the sacrifice that truck drivers make, staying away from home, often times for weeks before seeing their children and spouses, to bring us the goods that we take for granted.
Blessed Be!
