National Poetry Writing Month - # 4 Secrets
Secrets
Green trees calling for me
to seek their silence.
Giants holding within
Secrets
revealed
only told to those
whom are willing to listen
Are you hearing the sounds beyond
the rumbling of every day
emerging
in the depth of their leafy embrace
get lost in silence
to find yourself - again
This poem was inspired by a few very well taken images of various forests I came across this morning. I have always been drawn to spend time within these giants, growing up walking through their canopy, in Southern Germany, where places to roam within them where abundant.
Even now the view out of my glassed in porch are those of strong oak trees after which our neighborhood is named.
Blessings!
